UK/European family moving at short notice to the UK for a first class education

From London to Surrey to Gloucestershire

The family of three girls, all under age 11, got in touch to talk about a ‘late’ move to the UK for this September with an initial brief of academic London schools. After a written assessment and interview for the older two girls, and a gentle online assessment for the youngest, we talked about possible academic London options. The girls were coming from the UK system but had not done any 11+ preparation.

After discussion the family decided to widen their search and consider three areas and we worked with them to identify prep schools that fed into good senior schools in the same area.  Visits in London, Surrey and Gloucestershire were arranged, along with visits to a couple of associated senior schools.  We spent considerable time talking to schools about the family and the children and were delighted when they received offers from their first choice prep school as well as an early offer for a leading senior school.

The key was working with a very experienced team who assessed at the top end of prep school, as well as with an early years specialist for the lower end.  Each assessment was designed to make the child feel comfortable, particularly at a young age, but to give William Clarence a realistic view of attainment and knowledge which admissions offices find invaluable.
