Toby Bowman

Oxbridge & UCAS Application Specialist

Toby completed his undergraduate degree in Bioarchaeology at UCL before completing Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy qualifications at The University of Oxford (Green Templeton College). A former admissions officer and applicant selector for the University of Oxford, Toby has worked as an admissions consultant for 12 years, and has 15 years of experience in education. Toby has also worked on the school-side admissions process as an admissions advisor at UK independent school in Sussex, and has a great deal of experience with optimising applications for both schools and universities. He is also the author of bestselling admissions guides like The Ultimate Oxbridge Collection, and The Ultimate History Aptitude Test Guide, and is the editor of the Ultimate Interview Guide: Medicine. A former lecturer in the history of medicine at the University of Oxford, and academic supervisor for PPE students, he specialises in applications for medicine, economics, engineering, law, history, and PPE/HSPS. His students frequently get accepted onto courses at Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, LSE, and other leading universities around the country.

Toby supports his students fully, from the very first day of their programme to the last, building course choices and university shortlists, supporting exam performance, predicted grade improvements, and admissions testing, as well as personal statements, extra and super-curricular development, the preparation of written submissions and interview preparation and mocks. He can even help with planning campus tours, and will help candidates to select their final choices once all of their offers have been received. With over a decade of teaching experience Toby can support every student in a nurturing, empowering way - recognising their uniqueness and individual character as key elements of their admissions journey. To this end, he also works very closely with parents (when they so wish it) to ensure that their child's future is in the safest of hands.
